Amethyst Cabochon set in a lovely 925 Silver Hammered Ring

This attractive ring holds an amethyst which is the February birthstone. The stone is a cabochon shape, it has been shaped and polished to create a rounded shape, as opposed to a faceted stone.

Designed and created in my Norfolk workshop this is a statement ring which is comfortable to wear and will be sure to be noticed!

The amethyst measures 8 x 6mm and the silver ring is 9mm deep...I can make the ring to fit your finger, so just let me know your size when ordering.

The ring is hallmarked at The Goldsmith's Company Assay Office in London.

Hallmarking was first established by Henry 111 in 1238 to regulate the standard of gold and silver wares. I am really proud that my work carries my own maker's mark and the Goldsmith's hallmark, carrying on a centuries old tradition and proof of quality.

Many myths and legends are associated with gemstones and connected with the amethyst is the idea that the stone could guard against drunkenness, this idea goes back to the Ancient Greeks. Amethystos means "not drunk" in Ancient Greek. They believed you could drink all night and remain sober if you had an amethyst in your mouth or on your person. I'm not promising anything!
